Chemical Footprint Approaches

This page presents work undertaken in the context of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) by the workstream on Chemical Footprint approaches (convened by the United Nations Environment Programme). The documents include the agreed terminology and methodological framework of Chemical Footprint approaches, as well as industry guidance on the application of Chemical Footprint approaches (expected in November 2026). These documents have undergone a rigorous stakeholder consultation process involving hundreds of experts and organisations from around the world. Materials used in awareness raising webinars on the topic are also included in this page.
